If you’re searching for a commercial plumbing contractor, here are 5 requirements we believe set apart the best and most trusted ones. Many of these factors apply to any service provider. We believe if you find someone who fulfills all of them, you’ve struck gold. (Spoiler Alert: We feel like we fit the bill, if we do say so ourselves.)
Commercial Plumbers with the Better Business Bureau
An accreditation with the Better Business Bureau ensures several things. Because they are an organization committed to thoroughly vetting businesses, it’s safe to say a BBB review of any commercial plumbing contractor holds weight. They want to protect customers from less than reputable businesses while promoting the businesses that prioritize excellence.
The value of trust is even in their mission statement, which states, “BBB sees trust as a function of two primary factors – integrity and performance. Integrity includes respect, ethics and intent. Performance speaks to a business’s track record of delivering results in accordance with BBB standards and/or addressing customer concerns in a timely, satisfactory manner.”
They not only verify plumbers like us at the start, but continue to hold us to specific standards and best practices. This applies to everything from our policies, contracts, service, all the way to our advertising.
We became accredited with Better Business Bureau several years ago and it was one of the best decisions! No need to blindly take a chance on us, or any plumber. We’re proud to let a trusted, 3rd party recommend us to you.
Award-Winning Commercial Plumber
We were able to go a step further than our BBB accreditation. Last year, we received their Torch Award for Business Ethics. This recognizes organizations that maintain a clear commitment to conducting their business practices in an ethical fashion. This is one of the best awards we could ever receive, especially in a world full of short cuts, “fake news,” and false advertising. People still do business with people. We want to respect everyone we work for and with and do everything above board.
Business awards, in general, are an indicator of the great experience people have had with that business. Similar to a genuine review on Google or Yelp, (which we have nice comments from our customers there too!) recognition from the community is extremely valuable. It’s a sign the business is on the right track. For example, this year we were a Leo Reader’s Choice Winner. We’re honored!
Competitive prices with well-paid team members
Yes, it’s a mouthful, but when it comes to finding a good commercial plumbing contractor, you probably don’t want to reach for bottom of the barrel pricing. This doesn’t mean you have to find the most expensive pricing either. A good business should always maintain competitive pricing in the market. So, take note of that.
When looking around for a service provider, you may be able to find information about the benefits they offer their employees too. In our case, we’re able to compensate our team members above the industry average. We believe employees who are happy and appreciated produce better work.
Also, find non-commissioned plumbers. This is not an issue of right or wrong. However, because our plumbers don’t work on commission, you never have to worry about them trying to up-sell or inflate your bill so that it pads their paycheck. We only recommend the services we think you need most.
Plumbers with a Proven Track Record
It goes without saying that an experienced company is usually the better one. Still, some companies that have been around awhile become stagnant. Here’s where the results and reviews come into play. We’ve been keeping track of our numbers for a while now, and we boast a 98% success rate of getting a plumbing job right the first time. This means we avoid errors. It also means there have only been a few situations where the project stumped us, causing us to have to come back for an additional service visit. We try to align ourselves with other companies with a great track record too.
Excellent Service Above All
To become a commercial plumber requires training that equates to technical knowledge but doesn’t ensure any kind of quality in those services. So, a huge differentiator between a trusted plumber and one that isn’t is the interaction; from the contractor’s first communication with you to their presence on the job. You deserve a great experience in the services you’re paying for.
You have choices when it comes to your commercial–and even residential– plumbing contractor. We want you to be able to make an informed decision. Thankfully, we think we fulfill the requirements we laid out above.
In summary, we’re saying we believe we can do a great job, no matter your plumbing needs. But we’re happy to let our reputation and actions speak louder than our words.
